About the Program
Your newborn is special, delicate and precious. That's why we've created Babies First! so you and your baby get extra attention you can't get anywhere else. There is no charge for this program, just an agreement to participate.
Babies First! can help you and your baby be happier and healthier together. Take advantage of this very special program. The extra care you and your baby receive can make a very big difference in your futures.
Home Visits
Babies First! is a home visiting program for newborn children up to five years old. Public Health nurses regularly work closely with your doctor and clinic to perform home visits to monitor growth and development.
Expect a Babies First! visit at 4, 8, 12, 18, 24, and 36 moths. Home visits may be done at additional times, depending on the needs of the family.
What You'll Learn
Your public health nurse can teach you games and exercises that will encourage your baby's growth and development. You public health nurse can answer your health questions or refer you to the appropriate agency for specialized attention. You will learn how to better care for and understand your baby, right in your own home. You control the program -- services may be discontinued at any time.
