Vision

The programs in the Health Promotion Department are founded on best practices to improve the health status of those who live, work, and play in Klamath County.

Our programs work with the community, promoting healthy lifestyles and disease prevention through outreach, education, programming, and health assessments. We are dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of our community members and our grant-funded programs make this possible.

“Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”

–World Health Organization

“A healthy community is a place where people provide leadership in assessing their own resources and needs, where public health and social infrastructure and policies support health, and where essential public health services, including quality health care, are available. In a healthy community, communication and collaboration among various sectors of the community and the contributions of ethnically, socially, and economically diverse community members are valued.”
